Jolene Summer Bolster

Jolene Summer Bolster serves as the Associate Administrator for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. In this role, she partners with the Executive Director of Mayo Clinic’s Comprehensive Cancer Center to advance Mayo Clinic’s strategic priorities for cancer in Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, and the Mayo Clinic Health System. 

Additionally, she serves as the Deputy Director for Administration of the NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center Support grant. In addition, Jolene serves as Vice Chair for Pioneering Science in Mayo Clinic Research where she serves as administrative lead for wet labs, dry labs, and institutional research cores.   

Jolene brings over 20 years of research and clinical practice leadership experience, including previously as Associate Administrator for the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine and the Department of Clinical Genomics. She has served in a variety of enterprise operations roles advancing translational and infrastructure needs for individualized Medicine, laboratory medicine and therapeutics, including academic and business strategic partnerships.   

She has also served as administrative lead for Mayo Clinic priorities for Cellular Engineering/Gene Therapy, Biomanufacturing Strategy and Bold. Forward. Unbound in Rochester Cures & Diagnostics teams. She holds the academic rank of assistant professor of health care administration, Mayo Clinic College of Science and Medicine.   

Jolene earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She subsequently earned M.A. degrees in management and in health and human services administration from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn. Jolene is a former AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corp member and leader in Charleston, South Carolina.
