
Andrea Leah Anschel is a global health professional, educator, and community advocate with more than 16 years of experience designing and leading initiatives that strengthen communities and improve health outcomes. As Director for Capacity Strengthening and Team Lead at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs, she oversees large international teams and partnerships advancing leadership development and social and behavior change efforts across Africa, Asia, and the U.S.
Andrea also teaches strategic communication at Future Generations University, mentoring emerging leaders from around the world. She holds a Master of Social Work in Management and Community Concentration, with a specialization in Social Action and Community Development, from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Her career has been grounded in community-based work—from neighborhood organizing to famine relief—and she is honored to support WHL TRUST’s mission as a member of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA) Committee and as an Associate Board Member at Large.
