When and why did you join the TRUST?

I recently joined the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST after attending the annual TRUST Forum. I was inspired by the ability to network and connect with such a large and successful group of women.

Do you have a favorite TRUST memory so far?

I am currently in TRUST’s Mentorship Program and found the initial kick off sessions to be extremely valuable. The program provided opportunities to connect with other Mentees and Mentors and hear about their leadership experiences and challenges. I have really enjoyed the regular connections with my mentor and the ability to discuss current work scenarios, as well as overall growth and leadership opportunities.

How have mentors helped you?

I have had many mentors throughout my career, and have valued developing trusted relationships that allow open communication and feedback. I find it invaluable to hear other perspectives and see issues from different vantage points. It’s great to learn about the successes and challenges of other leaders and how they managed through them.

What is the best career advice you’ve received?

Be willing to fail and take chances. Throughout my career, I have been lucky enough to have great leaders who pushed me to take chances including taking on new roles. With their ongoing support, I have been able to continue to grow as a leader and have become more comfortable challenging myself and managing through difficult situations.

What support do you need now to evolve your development as a leader?

The ability to connect and network is really important to me at this point in my career.

How do you cope with the demanding aspects of your career?

I find ways to take a break and re-energize. I think it is also really important to have a strong support system.
