Aimee Johnson, Senior Director – Digital Products, Optum

What is your current role?

I am the Senior Director of Digital Products with the Consumer Engineering group at Optum. I am responsible for the Mobile Center of Excellence and multiple digital experiences within Optum Technology and Optum Health.

In my current role, I drive the product vision, roadmap planning and execution, ensuring we meet the needs of our members. I collaborate across lines of business and work with cross-functional teams to align product strategies with business goals to drive growth and improve consumer experiences.

In the past two years, I have had the privilege of working with a talented team of engineers, agile practitioners and technical product managers who are committed to delivering health care solutions that will make a positive difference in the lives of our members.

Why did you join the TRUST & what is your role?

I became a member of the TRUST in December 2023. Although I am new to the organization, I was immediately drawn to it after hearing about it from a friend. Upon further research, I was impressed by the incredible talent and experience possessed by TRUST members. I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of this group.

I am a TRUST Associate Board member and a member of the Strategic Growth and Marketing Committee.

What has been your favorite part of being a TRUST member?

The kindness and generosity of the members. I have had so many people reach out to introduce themselves and take time to chat with me. The TRUST is a wonderful community and I’m proud to be a part of it.

What one word would you use to summarize what the TRUST means to you?

Welcome.

What is the best career advice you’ve received?

Find your allies. Be someone else’s ally.

How do you support other women in their leadership journey?

I am currently mentoring 3 women. I believe it is our responsibility to help the next generation of leaders.  I will always make time to support women.  It is important.

What do you love the most about the health care industry?

I love knowing that I am working on products that will help our members when they need it most. It makes me happy to be able to positively impact someone’s health care journey.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I am highly introverted. I joined the TRUST to challenge myself to become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
