Jenn Rose, MAT, CPPM, In Transition

What is your current role?

I am currently in transition and am actively pursuing leadership opportunities in Learning and Development within the health care and medical device industries. Some examples of job titles I am exploring include Learning and Development Coordinator, Principal Training and Educational Lead, Medical Education Manager, and Medical Affairs Manager.

I am looking forward to positions where I can leverage my expertise in designing and executing learning solutions as well as developing systems/processes to improve efficiencies and accelerate outcomes. I also enjoy leading teams, fostering meaningful relationships and championing spaces for all voices to be heard and seen that catalyze new thinking and transform action.

Why did you join the TRUST?

I joined the TRUST after meeting with Tara Florek, TRUST Associate Board member. She encouraged me to build and strengthen my relationships with other women leaders in health care. Upon joining, I quickly connected with fellow members and found it to be a thriving support community. The stories of members I have connected with consistently reflect courageous leadership, creativity, determination and passion.

I am not yet a part of a committee; however, I would like to deepen my involvement by joining the Forum or Programming committees.

What has been your favorite part of being a TRUST member?

My favorite aspect of being a member of the TRUST has been the incredible women I’ve had the opportunity to meet. Their passion for what they do and their willingness to share experiences and perspectives have been invaluable. Attending various events has allowed me to reconnect with these inspiring individuals, further strengthening our relationships.

The most impactful TRUST sessions I have attended to date are:

  1. The New Member session provided helpful information about the organization’s structure, ways to get involved through committees, the mentorship program, and events.  The facilitators Tara Florek, Laura Weiglein and Heidi Dieter shared their inspiring stories about the ways the TRUST has supported their growth over the years.
  2. The IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Story Telling Series with Dr. Margaret-Mary Wilson moderated by Dr. Lisa Saul. Dr. Wilson captivated my attention as she told her heartfelt life journey. A nugget of wisdom that resonated with me was to be willing and open to “stretch into spaces that are new and uncomfortable” and seek to learn from all experiences good and bad.

What one word summarizes what the TRUST means to you?

Empowerment.

What is the best career advice you’ve received?

Cultivate relationships, stay curious, and be an engaged listener.

In addition, the best mentoring experience I had was with someone who was a guiding light, blending profound industry knowledge with empathetic understanding. This mentor inspired growth through constructive feedback and cultivated an environment that nurtured my learning, resilience, and strategic thinking.

How do you support other women in their leadership journey?

Through open communication, shared experiences, and providing guidance, I aim to empower and uplift fellow women leaders, helping them navigate their professional paths with confidence and tenacity.

What do you love the most about the health care industry?

What I love the most about the health care industry is being part of an industry with such a deep sense of purpose. Health care is a dynamic field of continuous innovation and learning which allows me to channel my enthusiasm into creating a real difference in people’s well-being.

How do you maintain or improve your health and well-being?

I love Peloton rides fueled by great music. I am always trying out fresh and healthy recipes with my family.

Words of wisdom to live by?

A quote that I love is, “Change is like a free ticket to the advantage of growth and learning; might as well embrace it!”
