What is your current role?
It has been an honor to work at Associated Healthcare Credit Union. Our company helps health care workers, professionals and their families with financial wellness. We help our members make their dreams come true and are passionate about our C.A.R.E. core values and our vision of Creating Financial Wellness for all Stages of Our Member’s Lives. In my current role, I am responsible for ensuring financial stability, member satisfaction, overseeing the operations of our organization, and developing future leaders.
Why did you join the TRUST?
I joined the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST five years ago. I was invited as a guest to the Forum and was inspired by all the amazing women leaders. I joined to engage and learn from others within the health care community.
What has been your favorite part of being a TRUST member?
My favorite part of being a member of the TRUST is all the meaningful connections I have made and being a part of the health care community it serves. The TRUST provides a welcoming place to participate and work alongside other health care professionals making a greater impact in the communities we live and work in.
What one word would you use to summarize what the TRUST means to you?
Community
What is the best career advice you’ve received?
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to be both a mentor and mentee. One of the best pieces of advice I ever received during a rough period in my career was to remember that each challenge we endure throughout our life is just a “point in time,” and as with most things, it will pass. In other words, do not focus on the past but embrace the future.
How do you support other women in their leadership journey?
I often support others by listening and providing support. I have been blessed with a career I love and am passionate about. Because retirement is on the horizon in the upcoming years, I am at peace in my career and look forward to helping others, as I am incredibly grateful to those who supported me through my own journey.
What do you love the most about the health care industry?
I love the caring and nurturing people I have met. I love the collaboration and support that these amazing women give. I have never been part of such an empowering organization.
How do you maintain or improve your health and well-being?
I intentionally include physical activity in my schedule each day, most often walking in nature and parks, which is therapeutic for me. I also enjoy the peace and beauty in my flower gardens.
Words of wisdom to live by?
Do not spend time worrying about things you cannot control. Much of the time, we spend time worrying about things that will never happen or come to fruition. In managing work and home life balance, I consciously try not to worry about things unless I must.
