At some point in every leadership journey, we need someone who can help us see what we cannot yet see for ourselves. Someone who asks the question that shifts our thinking, challenges the familiar and helps illuminate the path forward.
Within the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST, these connections come to life through the Mentorship Program, where mentors and mentees build meaningful relationships grounded in honest conversation, shared growth and mutual encouragement. The mentorship program is one of the TRUST’s signature leadership development offerings, creating meaningful connections between experienced and emerging health care leaders. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past two years and are excited to continue expanding the program this year.
Through a matching process developed with Menttium, TRUST mentees are paired with experienced leaders whose backgrounds and expertise align with their goals. Mentors offer perspective, guidance and hard-earned wisdom, while mentees bring fresh ideas, thoughtful questions and new energy.
These relationships can be transformational at any career stage.
For a mentee, a mentor may become a sounding board, advocate, trusted advisor and source of encouragement as she navigates a career transition, leadership challenge or new opportunity. For a mentor, the experience offers a meaningful way to share wisdom, invest in another leader’s growth and gain new insights in return.
The impact to our community of women health care leaders extends far beyond a single pairing. Each mentor/mentee relationship expands the network our members can learn from, turn to, support and champion. Over time, those connections create a powerful ripple effect by building confidence, opening doors, amplifying voices and making leadership pathways more visible and accessible for the women who follow.
That is the power of the TRUST network. We are more than a collection of individual leaders. We are a community that shares knowledge, creates opportunities and supports women health care leaders through every stage of their careers.
Applications for the next TRUST Mentorship Program are anticipated to open mid-August for both mentors and mentees and will remain open through late September. We welcome both new and returning mentors and mentees, so whether you have participated before or are considering it for the first time, we would love for you to get involved. Whether you are seeking guidance, ready to give back or open to either role, I encourage you to watch for application details later this month and consider participating.
And finally, if you are looking for another terrific opportunity to network with your fellow TRUST members, join us at our summer patio social at the Addison Group in Edina on Wednesday, August 19. Registration is free and we expect a strong turnout. Thank you to Addison Group for hosting this event on behalf of the TRUST! Registration details can be found here.
