The Power of Showing Up

One of the greatest strengths of the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST has always been our ability to bring women together in meaningful ways. In a field as complex, demanding and ever-changing as health care, connection is not a “nice to have.” It is how we learn, lead, grow and sustain one another.

Networking sometimes gets reduced to exchanging business cards or making career moves. But within the TRUST, it means something much deeper. It is the conversation that helps you see a challenge differently. The introduction that opens a new door. The mentor who helps you find your voice. The peer who reminds you that you are not alone. The new member who brings fresh perspective, energy and expertise into our community.

That is the power of connection: it expands what is possible.

As a community of more than 400 women health care leaders, we each carry different experiences, roles and stories. Some of us are leading teams and organizations. Some are navigating career transitions. Some are building new skills, seeking mentorship, sharing wisdom or simply looking for a place where they can be known and supported. When we come together, those individual journeys become part of something larger.

And over the next several weeks, we have wonderful opportunities to do just that.

Whether you are new to the TRUST or have been part of this community for years, I encourage you to make time for connection. Join our next New Member Virtual Coffee House with incoming TRUST president Ann Guyott and help welcome the women who are just beginning their TRUST journey. Drop into our next Virtual Networking Happy Hour with Kee Tiberg and enjoy casual conversation with fellow members. Or come aboard our Lake Minnetonka Boat Cruise and Networking event for an evening of connection, celebration and community on the water.

Each gathering is an invitation to show up — not perfectly, not with a polished elevator pitch, but with openness and curiosity. You never know which conversation may lead to a new idea, a future collaboration, a lasting friendship or simply the encouragement you needed that day.

The TRUST was built on the belief that women in health care are stronger when we are connected. Our network is powerful because of the people in it — and because of the generosity, wisdom and support we offer one another.

I hope to see you at an upcoming event. Bring your questions, your experiences, your leadership and your willingness to connect. There is always room at the table — and always someone in this community who will be glad you showed up.
