Kelly Tauber, MHA, MPH, Director of Employer Services and Convenience Care, CentraCare
What’s your current role?

I currently serve at CentraCare as the Director of Employer Services and Convenience Care. In this role, I oversee areas including occupational and employer health services, urgent care, and virtual urgent care. Much of my career has focused on healthcare operations and supporting the needs of diverse patient populations through innovative and accessible models of care.
What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to partner directly with employers and community leaders to better understand the real challenges they face as they navigate healthcare for their employee populations. Hearing firsthand about emerging workforce needs, rising healthcare costs, access concerns, and mental health challenges allows me to bring those insights back to our teams to help create meaningful solutions that better support the communities we serve.
More recently, I have also had the opportunity to support our urgent care operations in the St. Cloud region. I have enjoyed continuing to grow in healthcare operations while helping expand convenient, on-demand care options for patients seeking more accessible and flexible healthcare services.
Why did you join the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST and what roles have you held within the TRUST?
I joined The Trust because I deeply value personal and professional growth, mentorship, and the opportunity to connect with other women leaders in healthcare. Throughout my career, I have realized how important it is to learn from others who are navigating similar challenges and opportunities.
I currently serve on the Associate Board for the Health and Well-Being Committee. I recently joined the committee and have greatly enjoyed learning from the incredible women already involved while helping plan meaningful and engaging events for our Trust members. It has been rewarding to contribute to a mission centered around supporting the health, growth, and well-being of women leaders.
What has been your favorite part of the TRUST?
One of the most meaningful experiences for me has been participating in the mentorship program. It has provided not only encouragement and professional insight, but also genuine connections with women leaders outside of my own organization. Those relationships have broadened my perspective, strengthened my confidence as a leader, and reminded me of the importance of supporting and uplifting one another throughout our careers.
What is the best career advice you’ve received?
One of the best pieces of advice I have received is that leadership is learned by doing. There is no textbook that fully teaches you how to lead people, navigate difficult situations, or carry the responsibility that leadership requires. Leadership is deeply human work.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside several strong leaders who each taught me something valuable in different ways. One lesson that has stayed with me is that you do not always need to have every answer before taking the next step. Sometimes leadership means being willing to jump in, ask thoughtful questions, stay curious, and learn as you go.
I believe leadership is ultimately about serving your team well so they can be successful in their own roles. It is about showing up with humility, listening, creating trust, and being willing to grow alongside the people you lead.
