Libby Hornibrook, CPA, Partner, Health Care, Eisner Amper

What’s your current role?

I have over 20 years of experience working with accounting and advisory firms, specializing in consulting with independent physician practices and hospital systems.

When did you join the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST and what roles have you held within the TRUST?

I joined the TRUST in 2021 because I believe in the power of collaboration and shared purpose. After years of working closely with health care organizations, I saw how critical it is to have strong, values-driven leadership guiding the future of our industry. The TRUST offered an opportunity to contribute my experience, learn from other accomplished leaders, and be part of a community committed to advancing excellence, equity, and innovation in health care. I serve on the TRUST Board as Treasurer.

What has been your favorite part of the TRUST?

My favorite part of being a member of the TRUST has been the opportunity to connect with and learn from an inspiring community of women leaders. There’s something incredibly powerful about being in a space where women support, challenge, and uplift one another. The shared experiences, mentorship, and collective wisdom have not only enriched my professional journey but also reinforced the importance of empowering the next generation of women leaders.

What is the best career advice you’ve received?

Find your people. Surrounding yourself with colleagues, mentors, and clients who share your values, challenge you to grow and support your goals makes all the difference. It’s not just about what you do—it’s about who you do it with.

Can you share a pivotal moment in your career that significantly influenced your leadership style?

One pivotal moment was navigating a difficult situation involving a senior partner’s retirement. It was a sensitive and emotionally charged process, requiring a balance of empathy, strategic communication and firm leadership. I had to lead the way in helping the partner—and the broader team—understand the long-term benefits of the transition, both for the individual and the organization. That experience taught me the importance of courageous conversations, the value of dignity in change and how to lead with both heart and clarity.

What unique challenges have you faced as a woman in the health care industry, and how have you overcome them?

One unique challenge has been navigating leadership spaces where women are underrepresented, especially in financial and advisory roles. Early in my career, I often had to work harder to establish credibility and ensure my voice was heard at the table. Over time, I learned to lean into my expertise, build strong relationships and mentor other women along the way. I’ve found that leading with confidence, empathy and authenticity not only helps overcome barriers—it also creates space for others to rise.

What emerging trend in health care are you most excited about?

One of the most exciting trends in health care is the growing integration of mental health services into primary care. For too long, mental and physical health have been treated separately, even though they’re deeply connected. By embedding behavioral health professionals into primary care settings, we’re making mental health support more accessible, reducing stigma and improving overall patient outcomes. This holistic approach not only benefits patients but also helps providers deliver more coordinated, compassionate care.

What is something that not many people know about you?

Something not many people know about me is that I was born and raised in Nebraska, and my very first job was detasseling corn and walking beans. It was hard, hot work—but it taught me the value of perseverance, teamwork and getting your hands dirty to get the job done. Those early lessons have stuck with me throughout my career.

Words of wisdom to live by?

My words to live by are simple but powerful: Find your people. Hire people better than you. And remember—what people think of you is not your business.  These principles have guided me through leadership, growth and tough decisions. They remind me to stay grounded, surround myself with excellence, and focus on what truly matters.
