Jenna Lange, MBC, Senior Market Insights Consultant, UnitedHealthcare

What is your current role?

I deliver market insights related to UnitedHealthcare’s National Accounts business to inform strategy and drive improvement. I’m responsible for data analysis, reporting and presentation, database management, business planning support and survey creation and execution.

In my role, I’m continually looking for creative ways to distill complex data into a simplified story that promotes new ideas and drives action. I love that I’ve found a way to combine my creative background with my analytical thinking at work. The best of both worlds.

I’ve been with UnitedHealthcare for 8 ½ years. In my most recent role prior to joining UnitedHealthcare, I worked as a business consultant for Starkey Hearing Technologies.

Why did you join the TRUST & what is your role?

I joined the TRUST in 2022 as a Mentorship Program participant. My amazing mentor, Monica Engel, had such a strong passion for the TRUST and its mission that it made me eager to get more involved.

This year, I was selected to be a member of the TRUST’s Associate Board. Through that, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with other Associate Board members and shadow official board meetings to gain additional board experience. I’m also a member of the Leadership Development Committee, which manages the TRUST’s Mentorship Program.

What has been your favorite part of being a TRUST member?

I love meeting other women leaders in health care. Everyone’s story is unique and learning from one another is one of the best parts of this organization. Participating in key events like the annual Well-being Retreat, the annual Forum, and the Mentorship Program has helped me create lasting connections with other members.

What one word would you use to summarize what the TRUST means to you?

Energizing!

How do you support other women in their leadership journeys?

I find a lot of joy in connecting with other women. I love hearing their stories and finding out what they are passionate about. Being a member of the Leadership Committee has given me a front-row seat to all aspects of TRUST’s Mentorship Program. It’s so exciting to hear from participants how the program has impacted them and their careers. I look forward to serving as a mentor in the future.

What do you love the most about the health care industry?

I’m passionate about the work UnitedHealthcare is doing to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone. I love that I get to be a small part of that.

How do you maintain or improve your health and well-being?

I love setting goals and working to achieve them. This summer, I set a goal of completing a half marathon. While I enjoy running, up to that point, my longest run in many years was 6 miles, so 13.1 miles felt like a stretch. Throughout the spring and summer, I found so much joy moving through a training plan, spending lots of time outside, and reigniting a deeper passion for running. At the end of July, I hit my goal by finishing a very warm, very muggy 13.1 mile race in beautiful Stillwater, Minn. A memory I’ll never forget.

Who inspires you?

My kids! I have a 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter. Watching them take on new challenges and work with perseverance to master new skills is a constant reminder to me that we should never stop learning.

What is something that not many people know about you?

In college, I was convinced I would be an art teacher. I even minored in Art. Somewhere along the way, I recognized that creativity isn’t restricted to the art studio and have since found countless ways to bring my creative thinking into the corporate world.
