One of the things I value most about the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST is that we don’t do this work alone.
Our strength has always come from relationships: women supporting women, leaders learning from one another, organizations opening doors and partners coming together around a shared purpose.
October gives us several important opportunities to see partnership in action, through the relationships that help us grow, the communities that support us and, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the causes that remind us what we can accomplish when we come together.
For our TRUST community, that means several meaningful opportunities to get involved, with upcoming deadlines for our Associate Board, 2027 Mentorship Program and Lead Well Retreat. It’s especially timely given our recent LinkedIn poll, where nearly every respondent pointed to colleagues or mentors as the place they developed their most valuable leadership skills. Each offers a different path for growth:
- Building confidence and sharpening your leadership skills
- Exchanging insight and perspective through a rich mentor-mentee relationship
- Giving yourself space to recharge, reconnect with yourself and others, and return to your leadership with greater clarity and intention.
That spirit of connection also extends beyond professional development. On Oct. 13, we’re proud to partner with vraniCURE for Connections for a Cure, bringing our community together to support metastatic breast cancer research during a month that reminds us how many lives are touched by this disease.
Partnership has always been part of how the TRUST brings people together and strengthens the broader health care community. We saw that in action last month when the TRUST sponsored MegaMed Social during Twin Cities Startup Week in partnership with HealthcareMN.
As you consider where you want to grow next, think about the partnerships you are building along the way.
- Who challenges you?
- Who helps you see something differently?
- Who can you support?
- And where do you need to invest more deeply in yourself?
That’s what I value most about the TRUST: bringing people together in ways that help us learn from one another, support one another and grow. None of us has to figure it all out alone, and that may be one of the best parts of being part of this community!
