I’ve been reflecting on the extraordinary power of women who lift as they lead. When women build meaningful connections, invest in one another and lead by example, they do more than advance their own work — they strengthen an entire community.
That spirit will be on full display April 16 at the TRUST Forum, where we will recognize nine outstanding women leaders in health care, hear an inspiring keynote from Olympian Jessie Diggins and connect with hundreds of leaders across our field. The Forum is more than a celebration. It is a place where relationships are built, ideas are shared and women leaders find encouragement in one another.
That is one reason this year’s momentum has been so exciting: we have already sold out of event tickets and table sponsorships! This incredible response speaks volumes. It tells me that women in health care are hungry for connection, inspiration and community — and that the TRUST continues to be a place where all three thrive.
I am especially excited to hear from Jessie Diggins. Fresh off the Olympics, her final World Cup race and her retirement from competition, Jessie joins us at a remarkable moment in her journey. She has inspired so many through her grit, authenticity and resilience. Her story is about far more than athletic achievement. It is about courage, perseverance, well-being and the determination to keep going, even when the path is difficult or painful.
Jessie’s example reminds us that leadership is not only about performance. It’s also about vulnerability, generosity and the willingness to share our stories so others can see what is possible. It is also a reminder that none of us succeeds alone. We are stronger when we champion one another, learn from one another and create space for others to grow.
That same spirit of service is why one of the most meaningful parts of the evening will be celebrating our TRUST award winners: Barbara Walczyk-Joers, Jeannine M. Rivet, Jennifer M. Olson, Karen Svendsen, Kate Shaughnessy, Kiara Ellis, Francie Broghammer, Lynn Tanner and Becca Miller. These leaders represent the very best of our community. Through mentorship, innovation, community engagement, collaboration, leadership and service, they are shaping the future of health care and creating opportunities for others to rise.
The TRUST Forum is one powerful moment, but it is not the only one. In the weeks ahead, the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST will offer additional opportunities to connect, nurture and invest in one another through a variety of networking events:
- Virtual Networking Series: Happy Hour, April 8, 5-6pm
- New Member Virtual Coffee House with Lisa Spann, April 24, 8-9:30am
- WHL TRUST Speed Networking, April 29, 5-7pm
- Virtual Networking Series: Coffee with Melissa Fors Shackelford, May 13, 8-9am
- New Member Virtual Coffee House with Melissa Kloetstra, May 15, 8-9:30am
As we gather in the coming weeks, may we celebrate those who are boldly leading, honor one another and continue building the vibrant community of women health care leaders we have created together!
