Reflections of Gratitude

By Allison O’Connor, TRUST President

“Life isn’t a matter of milestones but of moments.” ~ Rose Kennedy

What a year 2022 has been! Many accomplishments and moments this past year mattered, but two stand out for me above all others.

  1. Being back in person. Nothing could be a more significant highlight for the year! After two years of virtual-only events, we started to meet again in person. Such a seemingly simple thing as everyone being together at the Forum held abundant energy. My cup is still full from the Forum and getting to network in person. And the second Well-being Retreat was three years in the making. After a fantastic 2019 Retreat, we had to hold off until fall 2022 for our second event. It was well worth the wait based on the feedback I heard from fellow attendees! We hope to offer the Retreat annually and continue to improve upon its success.
  2. Meeting TRUST Award recipients. Every year I am amazed at the talent in our health care community! The TRUST Award recipients are doing great things and are truly shining examples of how to improve our world one step at a time.

As I reflect on the past year, I cannot forget to thank four outstanding TRUST Board members who are fulfilling their terms at the end of December. Many thanks to my esteemed colleagues Leslie Bodell, Julie Dekker, Amy Dewane and Monica Engel for their years of Board service! Each of you helped elevate the mission and vision of the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST.

Of course, the end of one year means looking forward to the following year. Kim Perry will be serving as the 2023 TRUST President, and I have been lucky to have the opportunity to work with her. Kim radiates poise and professionalism in her networking and how she articulates the TRUST’s value. Our organization will flourish and grow with her leadership!

Thank you to everyone I have worked with and met along the way. I will always cherish the moments and milestones of serving as the 2022 TRUST President. My service to the organization has been one of the greatest gifts of my professional career.

I hope to see you at the TRUST Annual Meeting on January 10, 2023, when we gather to reflect back and look ahead. Please stop by to say hello at the Annual Meeting or reach out anytime. Remember, it’s not goodbye; it’s see you later. Thank you for the delightful memories. Cheers!
