By Allison O’Connor, TRUST President
A new year brings newfound energy and optimism. I’m genuinely excited to step into the role of President for the Women’s Health Leadership TRUST. I take on this role with great joy and humility.
This amazing organization has afforded me many wonderful opportunities to connect, learn and grow over the years. When I joined the TRUST about 12 years ago, I could never have known the path I was on and where it would take me. And while I’m eager to lead the TRUST, I’m just as enthusiastic about continuing to learn and grow from all of you!
The TRUST is a group with an inspiring goal—to provide personal, professional and community growth for all women leaders in health care. And our influence goes well beyond our members to those in the organizations we serve and the lives we share with family and friends. The gift of this network keeps giving!
The TRUST continues to give several ways by building for the future—of the TRUST, ourselves and the health care industry. In 2022, we’re continuing to build on the goals we set last year and take them to the next level by:
- Empowering the Associate Board. Formed in September 2021, the Associate Board expands on the TRUST’s work while providing new opportunities for health care professionals to expand their knowledge of non-profit Board governance.
- Executing our inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) goals. We’ll be including more information on recognition days that celebrate women, health and culture while also offering a storytelling series. I’m looking forward to this monthly series, which will feature executives sharing their journeys with members who are emerging and rising leaders. Our goal is to recognize the benefits of diversity, equity and inclusion in all TRUST activities.
- Accelerating and leveraging our outstanding breadth of programming. We expanded our programming last year to better meet the needs of our members during the pandemic, and we continue to keep our members at the forefront of our programming. We have something for everyone, from networking happy hours and coffee chats to book clubs and our Pinnacle Leader series—and everything in between.
We’re starting the year with renewed vigor, and I’m ready to hit the ground running. Please join me in living our goals and building our future together as the TRUST moves into 2022.
